Villa Gaia

Skopelos, Greece

Greece / Skopelos / Villa Gaia

A quirky boho-chic villa dramatically perched on the forested hillsides overlooking the Aegean

Plucked straight out of an Astrid Lindgren book, this whimsical villa is quirky but utterly charming. Time-worn exteriors painted in canary yellows with minty green trim, red-tiled roofs, and rickety old balconies exude charisma and character.

Simple rooms are light, bright, and comfortable, awash in warm yellows and pistachio greens, defined by warm woods, natural woven mats, and funky upcycled furniture. Boho-chic with a homey vibe, Villa Gaia is the perfect spot to hole up and watch the world go by.

the look.

Rooms are light-filled with warm pastel tones, pistachio-painted shutters, and spaces defined by natural woven mats and funky upcycled furniture. The kitchen makes up for its lack of modern appliances with loads of farmhouse charm (think open shelving, time-worn counters, and farmhouse sinks). Hammocks suspend from old wooden balconies shaded by rattan shades, and comfy lounge chairs frame a decadent infinity pool spilling over into the horizon.

the experience.

dreamy pool + views

Wake to the sound of cicadas and goat bells and welcome the day with a dip in the pool. Indulge your Insta-feed with plenty of drool-worthy infinity pool shots, especially at sunset.

hikes + beaches + villages

Hike around the various trails and goat paths surrounding the villa. And enjoy easy access to the unspoiled town of Glossa (beware of narrow streets when driving) and just a short drive to the nearby beaches of Perivoliou and Hondro Georgos.

access to good eats

For foodies, head out to the well-known (and star-studded) Agnanti restaurant. Be sure to ask owner Nikos Stamatakis about the history of his family’s restaurant, and check out the Kitchen Lab (run by Agnanti) to learn from the real masters about the art of Greek cooking.
