Villa Agia Triada

Skopelos, Greece

Greece / Skopelos / Agia Triada

Idyllic, rustic-luxe mountain retreat set against a backdrop of lush gardens, fig trees, and sea views

This tastefully restored 19th-century island farmhouse surrounded by olive groves and pine trees is the perfect island rental for a family of four. The spacious, light-filled 2-story home offers a harmonious blend of impeccable aesthetics, comfort, and tradition.

Surrounded by flowering gardens, stone courtyards, verandahs, and even a tiny Byzantine church, the house offers an ideal stylish sanctuary to pause and savor island life's slower pace. And Poulcheria and Nikos are the loveliest of hosts.

“The house itself has just been renovated with great respect for the traditional materials of the area and has revealed again the fantastic quality stonework of those master builders of times gone by and the wonderful proportions of this Venetian style of architecture.”

—Agyia Triada

the look.

Interiors have a minimal simplicity: crisp, clean with minimal fuss. Light-filled rooms retain their original features with exposed multi-colored stone walls, light wood floors, pistachio-colored shutters, and exposed white beam ceilings throughout. Décor is rustic-chic, blending old vintage trunks and storied gallery walls with splashes of saturated reds and cobalt blues in the kilims and pillows strewn about. The large open-plan kitchen offers colorful mosaic-tiled backsplashes and concrete counters chock-full of modern appliances. Terraced gardens and courtyards are brimming with olive trees, oversized pottery jars (once used for wine), and plenty of cozy nooks-with-a-sea-view.
