Sustainable tourism is still relatively new but offers much potential in Georgia, given its pristine wildlife-filled nature reserves, staggeringly diverse ecosystems, and abundance of savvy social entrepreneurs eagerly tapping into the responsible tourism space. A handful of high-end design-led hotels are increasingly going the extra eco-mile, prioritizing low-impact and locally sourced eco-friendly materials where possible and actively contributing to the revitalisation of their communities.
And the country is teeming with locally run guesthouses, farm stays, and rural tourism initiatives. Georgia even offers innovative booking platforms that encourage overnights in farm stays or homestays, connecting travelers to the country's ancient winemaking, culinary, and tea-making traditions.
