Georgia / Tbilisi / The Stamba Hotel

A fusion of brutalist architecture and vintage-chic décor in a Tbilisi-based publishing house

Remodeled out of a Soviet-era publishing house smack dab in the middle of Tbilisi’s creative district, this stylish industrial-chic abode packs quite a punch. With its 5-story jungle atrium of exposed concrete pillars and a glass-bottomed pool, the outlandishly drool-worthy hotel is a destination in its own right.

Spaces celebrate the city’s flourishing creative energy, with local art boldly mounted on floor-to-ceiling vintage bookshelves, lush foliage spilling down from massive concrete pillars, and salvaged printing equipment throughout.

“A living, breathing reflection of the city’s growing global significance.”

the look.

Rooms are light-filled and boldly decorated with playful pops of color and bespoke décor. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame expansive terraces overlooking Tbilisi’s rooftops, while exposed brick walls and red tiled floors create a soothing atmosphere that balances the authentic with the edgy. Comfy duvet-cocooned leather beds are framed with warm wooden furniture, abstract Georgian art, and a seductive freestanding brass tub.

A fusion of brutalist architecture, unadorned industrial minimalism, and quirky design aesthetics, Stampa is hands down a feast for the senses.

the impact.

As part of the Adjara Group, the Stamba Hotel is dedicated to sustainable urban and regional development in Georgia.

Eco-design

Throughout the construction, owners were committed to preserving the original structure, façade, and historically significant details of this former Soviet publishing house. Where possible, designers incorporated repurposed, reclaimed, and vintage elements to fashion the interior spaces.

Culinary sustainability

Farm-to-table fare takes center stage at the Stamba Hotel. Most of the hotel’s produce is sourced locally from their own farm. The hotel has also invested in establishing one of the first indoor vertical farms in the Caucasus region (Space Farms) at the Stamba Hotel. This cutting-edge digital technology allows the Space Farm to use 75% less water than traditional farming.

Waste, water, and energy management

Committed to encouraging energy-efficient solutions throughout all of its properties. Stamba is dedicated to reducing the use of plastic products and has initiated waste management systems to monitor waste production. Adjara Group also recently partnered with Plastic Watcher to address plastic waste and showcase products made out of recycled polyester bags in their hotels.

Community-focused

The hotel is committed to supporting the arts by showcasing local artists and regularly hosting cultural events.
