Tribal Hotel

Granada, Nicaragua

An uber-stylish sensory overload rocking the boho vibe

Tucked away in the back streets of a quiet residential neighborhood in colonial Granada, this sophisticated bolthole oozes personality with every design element telling a well-traveled story. Conceived by the design-obsessed owner Jean Marc Houmard and business partner Yvan Cussigh, Tribal has stirred up quite the buzz amongst travel writers and curators.

Crafted with a keen eye for design, the hotel is a feast for the senses. And we love that everything from the metal lobby chairs to the hand-cut tiles and funky wall sculptures adorning its walls is sourced from the rich local community of artisans — a hotel hottie not to be missed.

“Having a small hotel in an exotic land was always on my mind... Part of the appeal of Nicaragua is that it’s not overdone or too perfect. There’s a sense of discovery.”

—Jean Marc Houmard (co-owner of Tribal Hotel)

the look.

An utterly charming boutique hotel, weaving together the owners’ global medley of objects d’art, travel-inspired handcrafted furniture, and all things local and whimsical. Uniquely decorated rooms are brimming with local art, Turkish kilims, and tasteful Moroccan accents.

Outdoor spaces are defined by a dreamy courtyard chock full of tropical greenery, sky-high palms, and comfy cabana-style day beds, offering plenty of chill-out space surrounding the mosaic-tiled plunge pool.
