Omaanda

Windhoek & Surroundings, Namibia

An intimate, splurge-worthy designer’s paradise in the bush plains outside Windhoek

Omaanda's uber-luxurious huts are inspired by the clay and thatch homes of the Owambo tribe, with conical thatched roofs and earthy exteriors that blend in beautifully with the surrounding landscape. But the understated elegance of the huts' exteriors conceals the luxurious cocoons inside: high-end wicker pieces; handcrafted ceramic pieces, sumptuous king-size beds; built-in sound systems; fireplaces; and soaking tubs with savannah views. A graceful open-sided lounge, reception, and dining area leads to an expansive deck area and infinity pool.

And there's loads of comfy seating, open fireplaces, and scenic vistas, all of which create a seductive chill-out vibe. You'll be hard pressed to leave the premises, but be sure to take advantage of the game drives, nature walks, elephant tracking, or rendezvous with Omaanda’s meerkats. And after a day in the bush, take a dip in the pool, indulge in the spa, or fritter away the afternoon, sampling South African wines while soaking up the views.

“Today, the Zannier Reserve by N/a’an ku sê actively contributes to the conservation and regulation of flora and fauna, protecting biodiversity and fighting the extinction of threatened species.”

the look.

Ovamba-style clay huts, topped with thatched roofs, feature polished cement floors, earthy tones, and African artifacts. The exteriors are adorned with ochre, and each hut is capped with a thick, cooling thatch. Inside, white walls with textured finishes create an elegant yet whimsical atmosphere. The interiors are adorned with a soothing palette of sandy tones and accentuated with leather, ceramic, and high-end wicker pieces. Each hut boasts a spacious bed overlooking a private terrace, providing a fantastic vantage point for spotting baboons and other wildlife. The bathrooms are equipped with a tub positioned alongside a large picture window and a separate shower. On cool evenings, a crackling fire enhances the overall sense of indulgence.
