The Offbeat Goat Collection
La Lancha
Petén, Guatemala
Coppola-owned luxury jungle casitas perched on a rainforest hillside overlooking the shores of Lake Petén
Respecting the traditional Mayan narrative, these thatch-roofed and stucco casitas interiors are full-on rustic with minimal fuss, decked out in muted earthy hues, warm woods, and naturally woven textiles throughout. Bedrooms are simple yet tasteful, with a soothing palette of pebble grays, creamy whites, and pops of bright reds, blues, and yellows to complete the Guatemalan vibe.
Comfy king-sized beds sit on tile floors topped with hand-woven rugs, hand-carved furnishings, and brightly colored Guatemalan throw pillows throughout. Casitas open out onto wooden verandahs strewn with plush deck chairs and hammocks for chilling. The perfect jungle basecamp for exploring Tikal.
“The Coppolas see their role as that of a conservator.”
—Serena Lightner, VP of Coppola Resorts

detox
Delight in a traditional Mayan sauna (called a temazcal) using volcanic stones to produce heat.
lakeside fun
Join a sunset cruise or canoe/kayak in the Lago Petén Itzá , try your hand at fishing, or marvel at the many lakeshore villages. Or beat the heat and head over to Jorge's Rope Swing (in a secret bay on the lake) for some old-fashioned rope-swinging fun.
sky high adventure
For adventure seekers, join an aerial walkway tour (Canopy Tours Tikal), zip line (Skyway), or simply ride horseback through the rainforest.
easy access
Take advantage of the location and explore Tikal, Uxactun, Yaxhá, Topoxte, Nakum, Dos Pilas, Aguateca, and Seibal (day tours possible).
