Spanish colonial-chic boutique hotel tucked away in a back alley of Antigua

Meson Panza Verde is a unique and opulent boutique hotel in a colonial building just four blocks from Antigua’s town center. The hotel has nine uniquely decorated suites and three double rooms featuring an array of authentic local touches, Spanish and Cuban antiques, large bathrooms, fireplaces, and outside gardens or terraces. Bougainvillea-draped verandas, twisting staircases, turn-of-the-century chandeliers, and vintage porcelain tiles add to the romance of the place.

There are fresh flowers and Guatemalan textiles in each room, regular yoga classes upstairs in the Panza Verde art gallery, and live music six nights a week. And the hotel is famous for its award-winning restaurant, which is considered to be the best in the country.
