Guatemala / Antigua / Good Hotel

A sleek modern boutique hotel surrounded by romantic courtyards and tropical gardens

Sleep Good. Do Good is what this boutique hotel is all about. In fact, 100% of its profit helps disadvantaged local children attend school. And Dutch hotel owner and founder Marten Dresden is adamant about training his staff for the long haul and is committed to sourcing locally where possible. But don't think for a second you'll sacrifice comfort for sustainability. Tastefully renovated, this old colonial mansion offers plenty of cozy hang-out space and delightfully stylish light-filled rooms.

And guests will delight in eyeing up hand-crafted furnishings and thoughtful accents, bringing nature into the space with hanging plants, woven baskets, and a scattering of natural soaps. And to think, all this goodness started with a backpacking trip and a vision to give back in Guatemala.

“Dalesca is not just the name of room number 20; it is the name of the student you are supporting with every GOOD night's sleep.”

the look.

The interior is spacious and stripped back, exposing architectural details; expansive windows, exposed beams, and wrought iron accents with spaces are adorned with oversized photos of smiling Guatemalan children and hanging plants.

Light-filled rooms are simply furnished with bleached woods and soothing palettes of creamy whites and pale grays. Spaces ooze simplicity with just the right dose of Dutch-inspired design. And sustainability is central to its construction thanks to the owner’s keen eye for all things natural, local, and re-purposed.
