Tanda Tula Field Camp

Timbavati Reserve, South Africa

South Africa / Greater Kruger / Tanda Tula Field Camp

A secluded, off-grid bush camp along in the heart of the Timbavati Reserve

Nestled in the heart of the Timbavati private nature reserve, between the Mopono and Nhlaralumi rivers, sits a delightfully intimate, exclusive-use fly camp operated by owners fully dedicated to wildlife conservation and strengthening the local communities. Each of the four furnished "explorer tents”accommodates eight guests and is far from luxurious, but that's not what Tanda Tula's Field Camp is about.

Shara Burger, a consultant for Tanda Tula, beautifully captures the essence of the camp, describing it as the untamed frontier of an African safari—a place that challenges you to step beyond your comfort zone. It's an ultra-sensory adventure that will leave you contemplating how you truly lived before savoring the untamed essence of the wild.

“We have always been committed to strengthening communities, empowering individuals, and conserving wild spaces. Through responsible business practices and people-facing programs, we enable change immediately and provide growth for years to come.”

—Tanda Tula

the look.

Smack dab in the heart of Timbavati’s African bush; this intimate glamp camp packs a punch on authenticity and full-on Out-of-Africa charm. Simple, off-grid canvas tents have tiny cots, utilitarian furnishings, and cozy lanterns. Don’t expect luxury (or flushing toilets) here: Tanda Tula is about immersive safari experiences and sleeping in the wild. Think cozy communal campfires, starlit dinners, outdoor bucket showers, and comfy cots under canvas tents.

And, of course, we love that these tents are low-impact and committed to leaving no trace behind.
