Onguma Tented Camps

Etosha, Namibia

Namibia / Etosha / Onguma Tented Camps

Safari-chic tented camp rocking the Out-of-Africa vibe

Onguma’s chic, spacious tents are spaced in a U-shape around a waterhole, allowing for both privacy and fantastic views of the visiting wildlife. Each tent has both an indoor and outdoor shower, a modern interpretation of an old zinc bath, a separate toilet, two stone basins, and a private sitting area. At the end of the day, sip cold wine by the fire pit or take a cool dip in the swimming pool.

Wild animals surround the camp and are drawn to the enormous circular watering hole set in the center of a natural crater, surrounded by acacia trees. Kudus, impalas, and springboks are regulars in this neck of the bush, with black mambas, leopards, and lions never too far away. All part of the Out of Africa safari experience!

“Onguma should offer the local community the opportunity of having meaningful and productive lives by allowing residents of the area to economically benefit from operations based on the Onguma Reserve. This will curb them from destroying the habitat to eke out a living.”

the look.

Stylish structures made of canvas, thatch, and wood are elegantly embellished with soft grays, whites, and khakis. The blending of stone, suede, linen, and steel forms a contemporary and harmonious environment deeply rooted in the natural world. You won't find traditional bricks and mortar here; instead, the accommodations feature canvas canopies, wooden supports, and dark wood decking. These spaces are equipped with spacious, well-appointed beds, plush sofas, and standing lamps for your comfort and convenience.
