 Greece / Milos, Cycladic Islands

Uniquely sculpted and outlandishly beautiful

Uniquely sculpted volcanic beaches, a molten turquoise sea, barren hillsides dotted with white-washed houses, and blue-domed churches: Milos is outlandishly beautiful, an island bombshell like no other. There are regular flights or ferries from both Athens and Santorini.

Our Offbeat Goat collection includes one of our top picks, an off-grid hideaway overlooking the bay of Milos, plucked straight out of Dwell magazine.

the highlights.

Explore our favorite beaches - Gerakas (accessible only by boat), Sarakiniko (Instagram-worthy and known for turquoise waters, white volcanic ash formations, and cliff jumping), Papafragas Caves (colossal rock formations meeting over a sandy shore), and Tsigrado (small secluded beach, hard to access, but worth the effort).

Visit the quirky archaeological museum celebrating Venus de Milo and pop into the Catacombs of Milos for a peek at its ancient history.

Grab a bite to eat at the quaint local hangout for real home-cooked Greek food, Medusa (Madrakia), and have a sunset drink at the café-bar Outopia.

Explore the charming villages of Pollonia, Klima, and Plaka.

Hike to the top of Nichia and loop back down to the archeological area of Nichia (an ancient obsidian mine and factory).

Hire a boat to explore some of the nearby islands and caves (Kleftiko and Sykia),

Snorkel in the amazing blue waters of Polyegos, the most beautiful desert island in Greece, and stop off for lunch at a star-studded favorite To Kyma, on the neighboring island of Kimolos.
