Welcome to the “mother of all cities”
Nestled at the foot of the dramatic 12 Apostles and surrounded by golden beaches, this dazzling city is truly the "mother of all cities," with a mind-boggling collection of restaurants, museums, shops, and galleries. Surrounded by stunning mountains and pristine white sand beaches, Cape Town has immediate appeal and buzzes with creativity, design, innovative food, and rich history.
And there is plenty to keep nature lovers busy, with easy access to Table Mountain and Lion’s Head hikes, Camps Bay, and scenic drives through Chapman’s Peak Drive to Cape Point, passing through bouldered beaches teeming with penguins, quaint towns lining the rugged coastlines, and plenty of dramatic national reserves.

Enjoy a free Walking City Tour to get a feel for the city's layout and main attractions. This tour will take you through Bo Kaap, the Bree Street area, Parliament, Green Market Square, Castle of Good Hope, and Slave Lodge.
Explore the Woodstock/Biscuit Mill area, browse the art galleries, shop at the many boutiques, and join a street art tour. If you are lucky enough to be in Cape Town on a Saturday, check out the famous neighborhood market at Biscuit Hill.
Hike Table Mountain or enjoy a shorter hike up its smaller brother, Lion’s Head (2.5-3 hours). We'd argue Lion’s Head is just as spectacular as Table Mountain and more popular with the locals. An early morning hike up Table Mountain (and a ride down with the cable car) offers spectacular panoramic views of the city, ocean, and coastline. For a more offbeat hike, try the less crowded Kasteelspoort Trail.
Take a late afternoon stroll at the V&A Waterfront or Camp’s Bay.
Visit the District Six Museum and discover the story behind this multiracial part of Cape Town and its forced eviction and relocation during the Apartheid era. The Slave Lodge Museum is also worth a visit.
Grab lunch at one of our curated lunch spots: Company Gardens, Hemelhuijs, or Rumbullion at the Roundhouse (on the Camps Bayside), Zeitz MOCCA Food, Gibson's Gourmet Burgers and Ribs, or the V&A Food Market.
Head out to Robben Island for a reminder of South Africa's tortured past and a lesson in human perseverance. The tour takes approximately 3-4 hours and includes a return ferry to the island, a bus tour, and a viewing of the prison and cell where Nelson Mandela spent 27 years —not to be missed in Cape Town. Call in advance, as bad weather can prevent ferries from crossing.
Grab dinner in the city at one of our curated dinner spots ( Test Kitchen, Pot Luck Club, and Kloof Street House). ,
