Greece / Peloponnese / Tainaron Blue Retreat

A swoon-worthy boutique hotel tucked away in a cliffside Mani watchtower overlooking the Mediterranean

Teetering on what feels like the edge of the world, this out-of-the-way rural retreat is a true stunner. Meticulously restored with taste and authenticity, each of the three tower rooms feels unique with a style narrative that captures the essence of austere Maniot architecture with a touch of rustic luxe.

Sun-soaked stone terraces wrap around a dazzling plunge pool lined with comfy chairs and canopied daybeds offering majestic views. So if you’re looking for a far-flung, drool-worthy getaway that inspires awe, this may be your ticket.

“We had to adapt to the specific characteristics of the architecture of Mani and at the same time ensure that the interior spaces keep pace with modern aesthetics. The structure inside and outside of the towers had to remain unchanged…the formation of the exterior spaces had to ensure minimum interference, the addition of a water surface area was adapted to the specific environment and respected the topography of the landscape, resulting in an even a unified set of buildings an space with intensity and character.”

the look.

Rooms are stylish and intimate, cocooned in chunky stone walls, with vaulted ceilings and tiny windows that pack a punch with scenic views. Interiors are tranquil, swathed in subdued grays and browns. Cozy plush beds are carved out of exposed rock and piled with puffy duvets. Bathrooms are modern and shimmering.

Set amidst hilltops carpeted in olive trees and wild shrubs, the stone buildings are flanked by twisted olive trees, cobbled courtyards, and an inviting infinity pool overlooking the sea.
