Nicked straight out of Architectural Digest, this 19th-century Havana home is sleek, stylish, and dressed to impress. High-ceilinged interiors are spacious and stripped back, exposing architectural details, distressed Corinthian columns, mosaic-tiled floors, and wrought iron accents. Communal spaces feel tranquil and inviting, awash in modern furnishings, industrial-chic lighting, and artsy touches. Suites vary in size but are immaculately styled with oversized beds, large splattered canvases, and all the amenities and special touches one would expect from a boutique hotel.

The ground-floor grand cafe is Soho-worthy, with just the right Cuban touches. Think stuccoed concrete walls adorned in colorful Venetian bottles, locally crafted iron-wood tables under industrial pendant lights, and walls chock full of oversized expressive art. It is here where guests can linger over freshly brewed Cuban coffee and organic, locally sourced breakfasts while admiring the art on display. And if the outdoors is calling, head out to the hotel’s sun-drenched rooftop terrace with comfy lounge chairs interspersed with giant potted plants and front-row rooftop views of Havana.

They are also happy to organize tours outside of Havana with their well-vetted tour guides. And if you’re lucky, you’ll experience the ground floor cafe opening its doors to the creative well-heeled Habaneros for an art exhibition, music event, or fashion show. Some of our favorite hot spots are not to be missed: dinners or drinks at a refurbished cooking oil factory, El Cocinero (the film set for Strawberries and Chocolate), La Guarida, and the utterly charming Michifu. And for night owls, the 2:00 am drag show at Cabaret Las Vegas is not to be missed.

Most of the hotel's furnishings are handmade by local artisans and wrought iron craftsmen. Owners Andre and Sandy are committed to developing a cultural hub (HAV Coffee & Art) that showcases art, fashion, and music for the local community. And they regularly support their community through clothing donations.
